The first organic Franciacorta
Come visit us at the winery
To follow the progress, from vineyard to glass, of wines that are conceived, cared for and produced according to the principles of organic and sustainable viticulture.
The visit starts from far away, from the explanation of the pedoclimatic origins of the Franciacorta territory and from the history of its enological evolution.
It is in this background that reside the reasons for our work, which wants to emphasize the natural talent of an area historically devoted to wine production.
We will narrate you the origins of this territory, with a permeable soil because rich in sand and silt and poor in clay.
The same territory from which our precious wines are born, which constitute a unique production because it is characterized by different microclimates, influenced by the ancient glacier and the presence of the lake.
A short video will guide you through the story of Barone Pizzini, the development of the winery and the first organic Franciacorta.
Dive in nature, walk through the vineyards
After the introduction it will be easier to observe the vineyards with a critical eye, recognizing the elements described above and seeing how we apply the rules of organic viticulture.
Our lands are spread over different areas, allowing us to channel all the different characteristics of this variegated territory in the wines we produce.
We will walk together among the rows adjacent to the cellar, where we’ll explain the various stages of cultivation and where you can personally bear witness to the well-being of the plants, surrounded by a rich ecosystem.
Explore the winery and discover the winemaking processes
Upon returning to the winery, built according to green building criteria, we will continue in the two main work areas: the first, dedicated to winemaking, and the second, which contains the barriques and the bottles aging on yeasts.
The guide will explain our production method in depth, depending on the preparation and the questions of the group.
Be curious, we will reply with passion to all your questions!

What to see in the surroundings
Discover an extraordinary territory
Franciacorta is a land of natural and cultural sights. Take advantage of the visit to our cellar to immerse yourself in an environment full of wonders, of which our wine wants to be an expression. Here are the places we suggest to our visitors.
Monastery of San Pietro in Lamosa
Founded on a rocky rise that dominates the peat bogs, and also linked in the name (Lamosa) to the marshy nature of the places, San Pietro is the oldest and last standing of the Cluniac foundations of the Sebino.
Madonna del Corno
The sanctuary was presumably built in the ‘500, according to the legend, after the apparition of the Madonna to a soldier tired of fighting. Located at the peak of the southern rocky part of Monte Cognolo, it can be reached by foot, with a nice walk in the hills, both from Iseo and Provaglio.
Every era in Brescia offers a different square and the city grows around them. From the Roman period, shown in an excellent way from Piazza Fora, from the remains of the Capitoline temple and the Roman Theatre, to the medieval periodwith Piazza Duomo and Piazzale Broletto, passing throught the Brescia Risorgimento with Piazzetta Tito Speri. The two main squares are Piazza Loggia, testimony of the Venetian domination, and Piazza Vittoria, built in the 1930s.
The historic centre of Iseo
It’s the city that gives to the lake its name and tells its story. The centre, of medieval origin, showa the palaces that still retain thei origins, such as the Arsenal. The town hall is located in Piazza Garibaldi, where there is the first monument of Italy to the leader and Italian patriot.
The historic centre of Pisogne
Pisogne is the meeting point between the lake and the mountain. Important places are the church of Santa Maria della Neve frescoed by Girolamo Romanino and the historic village of Pisogne, characterized by the high Bishop’s Tower.
Torbiere del Sebino Nature Reserve
The Torbiere del Sebino Nature Reserve, declared a “wetland of international importance”, is considered a priority area for biodiversity in the Padana Plain. This is due to the variety of habitats and species, aquatic-marsh, present in the area, some of which are rare or at risk of extinction in Lombardy and in Italy.
A mountain located in the middle of the lake, defined as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. Accessible by ferry from Sulzano, Peschiera, Sale Marasino and Carzano, the island can only be visited on foot, by bicycle or by small buses that make regular service.
The historic centre of Sarnico
Sarnico is located on the northen shore of the area where the lake tightens up to become the river Oglio. In the Middle Ages, Sarnico assumed a configuration with the center closed within the walls with three doors and dominated by the castle. In 1817 the bridge that connects Paratico with Sarnico was built and still divides the provinces of Brescia and Bergamo.
Parish Church and Castle of Erbusco
The Parish Church of Santa Maria Maggiore in Erbusco is one of the most beautiful in Franciacorta and is located inside the small, but well-maintained castle of Erbusco.
