The story of Pievalta began in 2002, when Silvano Brescianini, searching for the right terroir for a high quality white wine, discovered Pievalta in the Castelli di Jesi, a land of great beauty, history and culture.
The vineyards were quickly converted to organic viticulture and the new project was assigned to Alessandro Fenino, the soul of Pievalta. He began his studies and experiments that led to the decision to adopt biodynamic viticulture, with the desire to obtain wines that tell of their vineyards of origin, unique and with a strong personality. Pievalta became the first biodynamic winery in the Marche region.
At the same time he was followed by Silvia Loschi, his partner in life and work, who carried out the crucial mission of making the winery and its wines known in the region. Today Pievalta has 43 hectares distributed between Maiolati Spontini, Montecarotto, Cupramontana and San Paolo di Jesi.
From the vineyard with the same name, on the steep hill overlooking the right bank of the Esino river, on Mount Follonica, comes the Riserva San Paolo, which is now awarded the Gambero Rosso White Wine of the Year.
